DeZURIK's Hilton compact capped knife gate valve solves space constraints in pumping stations | WWD

The sewage pumping station requires a 42" and a 48" metal seat knife gate valve. The valve is installed horizontally in an inaccessible position in a vertical pipeline. Due to the long life cycle of the packing and the fear of leakage over time, the use of capped valves is required.

Due to space constraints, the standard yoke and stem of the capped knife gate valve cannot be used. DeZURIK engineers worked with utility companies and consulting engineers to design a compact Hilton brand knife gate valve with dual non-rising stems to suit the application. In this design, when the valve opens and closes, there is nothing beyond the initial valve envelope. The motor operates the dual output bevel gear, which in turn operates the second bevel gear to simultaneously operate the two non-rising rods to raise and lower the gate.

DeZURIK's Hilton manufactured valves include custom and large diameter valves to meet specific application requirements. The fabricated structure allows unlimited design flexibility to comply with industry standards. The valve can be made of any weldable alloy and can be selected according to specifications, media and operating conditions. The use of certified plates can ensure design integrity and final valve quality. The sheet is also very suitable for special purpose coatings and hard surface applications.
